Dear LPHS Friends,
Exciting News 1: Going Mobile
LPHS has some BIG, SCARY, AWESOME NEWS to share! We applied for a grant for a Mobile Medical Unit (MMU), and were offered a $75,000 grant towards the purchase of a MMU from Save the Storks!!! WOW, right??? This would allow LPHS to bring free pregnancy tests, free ultrasounds, and free STD testing to each town/village/city in our county, as well as serve Greenville University!
Can you imagine the impact on saving lives we can have? This is such an amazing opportunity!
With everything going on in the State of Illinois we will be able to make a larger presence in our community!
So why does little bitty Fayette County need a MMU? Many, many, young girls are not able to get to Vandalia. They don’t have transportation or the money to get to our office. This MMU would allow us to bring our life-saving services practically to their backdoor! The impact could be astronomical!!!
Why serve Greenville since it is not in Fayette County? There is a simple answer. Greenville does not have a pregnancy center that provides ultrasounds or STD testing. Greenville has a university. Did you know that most abortions are performed on women who are between 19 and 25 years of age? It is a fact, and LPHS believes that the MMU can make a real difference! In the past year, multiple Greenville girls have called LPHS seeking abortions with no way to get to Vandalia for our life-saving information. This breaks our hearts and we have the opportunity to do something about it!
In order to secure this grant LPHS has to pay a $10,000 affiliation fee by September 1, 2019, to Save the Storks, which will lock in the grant funds and begin the campaign for Going Mobile. LPHS will then be responsible for raising an additional $65,000 (estimated) to actually receive the unit. The total cost of a MMU is approximately $150,000.
We ask for your prayers! We do not have an extra $10,000 in the bank. We know, though, that God can move mountains! So we ask you to please pray for the funding for this mobile unit affiliation fee to become available so that LPHS can stand up to Illinois and fight for Life!

Exciting News 2: Roof Repair
We are so very blessed by the outpouring of support in the roof repair mission. We have secured the money needed to restructure/repair the roof to eliminate current leaking and future issues, as well as remove the chimney that has for some time been a leaking menace.
Thanks to you we have raised over $19,000 for this project to be possible! Thank you! Thank you!
This project started out as a $10,000 estimate but has quickly expanded to a much larger project as we discovered the air conditioning and furnace are irreparable in part of the building due to their age, and will also be replacing as part of this project. So, the extra funds raised from the roof will be going towards a new a/c and furnace for half of the building.
So again, we thank you for your amazingness, your willingness, and your prayers! You truly are saving the lives of babies in our community!
In God’s Love,
Tamela S. Polanin, LCPC
